Classical Riding Lessons

At Horses of the Sun, we offer riding lessons in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for riders of all levels and ages.

The main principle of our work is never to disturb the horse in its natural movement. The horse’s movement and balance should be no different in the schooling area, with the rider, than out in the field running with the herd.

​Our focus is on fostering a strong, respectful partnership between horse and rider, ensuring a balanced and harmonious experience for both.

Therapeutic Riding

Our therapeutic program is conducted to enhance the physical and mental abilities of the individual.

By working with horses and other children, participants will be learning “co-operative team-behavior”, responsibility, and a wide range of physical education.

​This valuable aid for teaching children who are developmentally delayed, learning disabled, or emotionally challenged is second to none. ​​

Mounted & Traditional Archery

We offer courses in both traditional archery and mounted archery for enthusiasts of all levels.

No prior experience is required. Students will learn the history of archery, archery theory, and proper etiquette, while practicing with different bows (longbows, recurves, horse bows).

Whether from the ground or on horseback, you'll master instinctive shooting, different draw styles, and have plenty of practice opportunities.

Voltige

Voltige is a combination of gymnastics and acrobatics on horseback. Kids learn gymnastic, artistic, and flexibility exercises on the ground, on a practice barrel, and on the horse in the walk and canter. The horse moves in a circle at the end of the lunge-line, controlled entirely by the instructor in the center.

Summer Horse Adventures

Our Horse Adventure Camp offers a summer full of excitement and learning. Your child will experience hands-on horsemanship, including grooming, feeding, and tacking up, while building riding skills, trying their hand at vaulting, and staying active with outdoor fitness activities—all in a fun, safe environment!​

Mastering Energy & Influence

This transformative course is designed to help you better understand and channel your energy and thoughts to positively influence those you mentor, lead, or care for. Through engaging workshops and hands-on training, you will develop powerful skills in body language reading, speech tonality, and emotional intelligence  - using nature and horses as your guide.

Fun Facts

We have 105 acres of land for our horses to run, play and eat delicious grass.

The two resident dogs of Horses of the Sun are called Secret and Stella!
We have 11 School horses who are looking forward to meeting you and becoming your friends. 
Sonja and Uwe are both voltige champions.
Horses of the Sun started operations in the fall of 1997.
